I'm Josh.
I've been in marketing for over eleven years. Most of that time was spent in-house, running the whole thing for real businesses with real money on the line. The budgets, the board meetings, the conversations about what's working and what isn't.
I started at the bottom, worked my way up to Head of Marketing, and along the way I did all the jobs that marketing people do. I ran the ads, built the email programmes, tested the landing pages, negotiated with agencies, and sat in rooms explaining to directors why we should spend more money on something they'd never heard of.
I also wrote a book about AI for small businesses. It's called The £20 Assistant and it came out of frustration with how much of the AI advice out there is written by people who've never had to worry about whether the till rings.
Now I consult, I write, and I help businesses figure out where their marketing is leaking money. If you're a recruiter, the timeline below is basically my CV. If you're a potential client, it's proof that I've done the work.

A bit about me
I live in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, about an hour from London. I work from home most of the time, which suits me fine.
I'm a morning person. I do my best thinking before 10am, usually with a coffee that's gone cold because I got distracted by something.
Outside of work, I read a lot, mostly non-fiction, mostly about business. I walk everywhere. I've always got something on the go, whether that's a side project or a book I'm halfway through writing.
I reply to emails the same day, I flag problems early, and I don't disappear when things get difficult.
